What is the problem with Vista ?

The notebook is too slow. I remove so much bloatware but is still slower. Vista is for more powerfull processors. I think that with XP will be faster

May I ask why you have a North American model? Yes, you can change it to XP Pro, there's a guide in this section here somewhere, you'll have to get the drivers for the older XP based TXs.

Because www.bhphotovideo.com have this model. In Europe this model costs1/3 more money
Is not possible to use drivers for TXN15 for example because drivers have ,,model check,,. -
Thanks a lot SonyWhore

I agree as well...the TXN25 sucks. I think I will attempt to install XP tonight... I'll post my results as soon as I finish.

Unknown27, before 10 minutes i install clean Vista. Without bloatware of Sony TXN25 working fine

Yeah I installed all the bloat ware as well but it's still slow as hell. This version just isn't spec'd out to run Vista efficiently. At least up to my standards.

Yeah I did a few tweaks as well. I posted a thread about this a while back here :

Also I was going to attempt to install XP but never got around to it...just got too busy :

I figure I'll probably pick up the TZ or just wait a while. I still have my accidental warranty for 3 years and I'll use it on a future T series in about a year or so.
Until then I'll deal with what I got.. -
I upgraded my TXN15P to Vista Business with the Sony supplied upgrade disc and I loved it! It actually seemed a little more responsive. Supposedly it was because of how much better Vista manages system resources. The TXN's are not very fast in the first place.
TXN25N/B with Vista - Terrible
