    Hello people :)
I just received my dream TZ 150N/N :) Its look very sweet and expensive :)
But comming only with 1 Gb of RAM. I see that the model TZ 170 is the same like TZ 150 but have 2x1 Gb. TZ 150 have only 1 slot.
The question is where they put 2 chips x1 Gb RAM in TZ170?
    Any ideas :)?

I was under the impression that the TZ only had 1 RAM slot?

There's a ram slot on the bottom of the notebook, unscrew the cover, take out
the 1gb stick and put in a 2gb stick.

On the bottom of the TZ 150 had only 1 slot with 1gb.
I dont understand how they offer TZ 170 with 2 chips x 1 Gb?
The only one difference between TZ 150 and 170 is the RAM - 1 gb vs 2 gb

There is only one ram slot total, which is accessible on the bottom by a panel. Its very easy to upgrade the ram.

No, you are allowed to upgrade your RAM. However, I believe the warranty states something about non-Sony parts voiding the warranty, which means you would have to use a Sony module. Someone can correct me if I am wrong...

Use your 2 GB RAM, and when unfortunately need to send in for whatever servicing, replace it back with original RAM.

Also, I'm not sure about the US, but here in Asia Pacific, SONY does not sell RAM for upgrade, nor do they provide any option of upgrading.

I don't think it will void the warranty unless it causes damage to the notebook, or it causes something to malfunction. Just keep the original RAM in case you need to send it in for repair.

I want to upgrade to 2gb. If I buy 2gb (veritech,667 mhz, sodimm, one slot), Can I use my vaio tz? I heard that vaio's only run with sony's ram, it refuse other manufactures. Is that true, i must go sony shop and buy sony's ram?

This Transcend 2GB module runs happily in my Sony G11 so I would expect it to work in the TZ (same chipset). A possible issue with that Veritech module is that it doesn't appear to include a 400MHz setting.
