    That is the question :)
Im ready to order a new laptop because my txn25n/b is very, very slow :(
Can somebody to help me with info for the performance of TZ Series. Before 6 months a was have SZ450, i think that SZ 650 will be faster than 450 but if the TZ is slower like TXN25 i will go to SZ 650
    Thanks in advance :)

What do you use your vaio for? what apps do you run?

Do you want to install Vista or XP?

    What are your current specs?

They are pretty different machines. You get more for your money with the SZ but the TZ of course beats it in size, weight, battery life, etc. The SZ beats it in everything else.

Your TX is slow because it is loaded with Vista and it uses a Core Solo and 4200rpm processor. If you manage to put XP on it, it will run fine. There's a guide on how to do it.

What's more of a concern, performance and screen size or portability and running time?

It's propably not setup the right way.

If you have a clean install of XP it will run office apps fine.

Sony usually installs Vista + lots of bloatware. It slows down the machine too much.

If you buy a new TZ it will come with Vista + bloatware aswell. So you will have the same problem.

They are both stylish and will improve your business image. The TZ lets you choose between more colour options though (when importing anyway).

I don't have my TZ yet, but, from what I have read, it is quite capable of handling all office tasks with ease.

Are you buying it retail or importing?

Tanks guys :) I want to order from US to Europe, Bulgaria because here the price of cheapest TZ is 3700 $ in US is 2000$. Its very big difference :). The advantage of TZ is the size but SZ not so bigger then TZ

Ok well you can buy from US but my understanding is that it's not going to be cheap.

Importing from Japan will give you more options. You will still be able to get an English keyboard and have an English version of Vista installed on it (although I only know of http://www.conics.net who do this).

Sony Japan don't currently offer SZ models based on the Santa Rosa platform though.

If you have any questions about importing, there's lot of people here who have imported the TZ that post on these forums.

Free. They offer a higher level of service, which is why their prices are sometimes slightly higher.

    That sounds very good.

Too bad they seem to take a long time to answer a simple email.

Does anyone have experience calling them on the phone?

Brett is in Australia at the moment, and he normally handles the emails. It's 10:30 here, so he may have gone to bed.

What are your questions? One of us may be able to help.

I've requested a price quote for my config + shipping to netherlands.

If it works out the same price as Pricejapan i might opt for them.

However mr.bulk siad there were some advantages to pricejapan. most importantly Pricejapan has a german bank account that I can wire money to for free.

Did you use the quote feature on the website? I first used that, but was told it is quicker to use the shopping cart/checkout feature and put your questions/comments in the comments section as you order.

Conics only have a Japanese and Australian bank account, I believe. Your bank will normally charge you a fee of $20 or so to wire internationally, which isn't that much. I would talk to you bank about those things.

I don't know what relations The Netherlands has with Germany, but your bank may charge you for transferring to there as well. Again, check with your bank.
