I'm thinking of getting a docking station for my TZ, these seem to be the three that keep coming up in my searches. Does anyone have any experiences with these?

    Belkin High Speed Docking Station
I like that this station uses the expresscard slot, which is currently unused on my TZ, but the amazon reviewers seem to really dislike this product, as it caused BSODs for them...

    Targus Expresscard Docking Station
Based on this review, it sounds pretty good, but based on the pics there it looks like it might have the TZ sitting at an awkward angle, or worse, the station would just be there off to the side. It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it's probably the least attractive of the options i've found so far.. unlike...

    Sony VGP-PRTZ1
I love how the TZ would sit flush in this one, but it seems as though it's more limited in terms of features. I don't mind that it lacks the audio ins/outs, but I can't find anywhere online whether this docking station would be able to do an extended view (the targus and belkin both can) with my big LCD monitor.

for my uses, i'd just like to be able to use home mouse/keyboard/printer via the station, as well as get an extended view from the laptop to the LCD. anything beyond that is gravy.

any opinions for or against? or any other suggestions: highly welcome!

Belkin High Speed Docking Station is an awesome product and works flawlessly! don't bother getting a docking station from sony. they don't provide a power cord for it, lacks audio jack and doesn't lock ur laptop down. It feels really cheap, yet they charge a fortune for it.

I have both the Targus and the Belkin and both are excellent minus the video capabilities. At 1280 x 1024, both are unusable so I have to plug my external monitor directly into the laptop.

I would have stayed with the Belkin but under Windows Vista the computer would not shut down so I am using the Targus, I like it.

thanks for the responses: follow up question -

for my purposes, would it be equally useful for me just to get a KVM switch to share a usb mouse/keyboard with my desktop? does anyone know if you can do extended desktops with a KVM switch?

Zones has a pretty good deal on the TZ dock right now if you did decide to go with that route. As for what you want to do with your monitor, is it an extended desktop, which it'll do just fine, or mirror, which it also has no problems with at all!
