    Hi,

Just a quick question for TZ and/or TX owners. Can these laptops display 1680 x 1050 resolution on the vga output?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

The maximum resolution of a Tz and TX or TXN can reach is 1366x768 display resolution on the VGA output.

No, thats for the internal screen, my Vaio TX790P with its broken screen outputted perfectly to my dad's
22" monitor, 1650 by 1050 by VGA, so the TZ should as well.

It is not important which brand you choose, the only thing you have to check is that it is SODIMM and DDR2 with 533Mhz (you can buy faster 667Mhz, but memory speed is limited to 533Mhz max, so it will work, but slower than is its capability)

Upgrade is really easy, just undrive several screws, four I think, and then you'll see ram installed. Just swap them..

The other thing to keep in mind is that the TZ only has a single RAM slot, so to upgrade you'll have to take out the existing stick and put in a new one. If you want to upgrade to 2GB, for instance, you'll need a 2GB stick.
