Hey huys i just got myself a TZ170 here in canada. As soon as i booted it up for the first time i noticed that when it was a black screen there was a sort of thin white leakge running across the bottom of the screen. Now its nt really noticeable when im using it under refular usage but when a boot it up i cleary see some leakage maybe slighty more than normal. What about all you other TZ owners whats your experience when it comes to leakage , is your screen all black with no noticeable leakage and you only see it whn you tilt the screen or is it there at any angle.Thx...

I have the same thing here with my TZ150. The primary reason for it, I suppose, is that the LEDs are at the bottom of the screen. There are about 50 LEDs at the bottom.

Under regular use, it is not noticeable. However, if I want to pay very close attention, I can actually see the LED light marks on the taskbar. However, it is not noticeable under regular use.

Yes unfortunately I also have the light leakage on the bottom of the screen on my VGN-TZ150N/B. Exactly same experience as JLagoon.

Yes, I have it and so will all TZ owners. What do you expect when thats where all the LEDs are located to light up the screen? Leakage is on all laptops, only difference is some have it more than others.

Just make sure your screen is displaying all black and you'll see the bottom strip of your screen is brighter than the rest of the screen because of all the LED lights at the bottom of the screen.

This was much worse on the previous TX series that also had LED backlit screens. In fact, at one of my lectures where a girl had a Vaio TXN, I was at the back of the room while she was at the front. I could see from there the bottom strip of her screen was noticeably brighter from across the room! Its much better on the TZ now I think.

All laptops have light leakage, some worse than others, its perfectly normal, nothing to worry about.
