I had FedEx pick up my TZ130 for the hinge recall on Tuesday and they brought it back this morning (Thursday). Of course, the repair center is just a 20 minute drive from my work.
I got a blue Vaio microfiber cloth, and it looks as though the replaced a "foot housing" and "bezel cushion" in addition to working on the hinge. I also had a sheet saying that the WWAN adapter had been replaced, but since my model did not have one in the first place I'm a little dubious. Sony also got into my BIOS, since the password had been cleared.
No scratches, scrapes or anything!
Although the service took less than three days, I took my time migrating my data from the TZ to my trusty TR1, then used the older Vaio for several weeks to make sure I had not missed anything. I'm running Ubuntu on both laptops, and the old TR1 just hums.

I'm glad to see you had a good experience. I have the exact same model and still haven't sent it in for repair yet. It's my only computer and I've especially been needing it for school. Since I'll be on vacation to India from Christmas to middle of January, perhaps I should send it for repair then.

Good to hear it's a fast turn-around. I also haven't sent it in yet. Did they wipe the data on the hard drive or something? I don't think they would need to go in to Windows to fix the hinge...?
