Is it even possible? I've done them on MacBook Pros, which are quite a chore, but I wonder if one can even get to the drive in these.

It is possible if you can handle delicate parts and yes I am not talking about first or second base and if you have long non-fatty fingers.

    The TZ's 4200RPM can be swapped with a SSD or a bigger 4200RPM or even a 8mm 1,8" 5400RPM drive

For those who have 2 drives (1.8 and 2.5") you can swap also the 5400RPM 2.5" with a faster one

what do you mean how does one do it?

Get a SSD/Bigger/Faster 1.8" with a ZIF socket, open up your rig and swap it

No, I meant is there an "opening your rig" tutorial out there? An example would be the one that ifixit has for opening up the macbook pro.

Thanks -- now to just find the part number for the SSD drives...
