I ordered a TZ150 from Portable One on Friday....

I assumed that I could buy the TZ150 now to help budget-wise and then at some later date swap out the 100GB HD for a SSD if I wanted to. This model comes with the DVD-R burner which I'd like to have...

Realize now that this assumption may or may not be correct.

Can anyone here please confirm whether this can be easily done later? ie, do they have the same drive connectors, etc?

Given the large outlay of $$$'s for this, want to make sure that I make the right choice now and not regret it later....

If my assumption is wrong, then I might have to dig a little deeper and pony up for the TZ190.... ;)

    Thanks,

    Mark

No, it is possible to swap it out later for an SSD, someone had changed the HDD in his TX to a SSD and a member here installed an SSD into his TZ90 that had no 1.8" HDD but instead a 2.5" HDD in place of the DVD drive.

    Hi Mark:

I ordered a TZ150 last night. I don't think the TZ190 is worth it. I mean, in a couple months, there would probably be cheaper and more advanced SSD drives that we can use for our TZ's. The industry would come up with something like SSD Xtra Burst or something--hehehehe

Glad to hear you ordered one too, JLagoon....

Agree with you that the TZ190 is very expensive...believe me even the TZ150 is a lot of $'s for me....just wanted to know what my options are in case I wanted to upgrade HD down the road sometime...figured better to know now before my order is processed than after I receive it.... ;)
