So I installed XP Pro on my TZ170N and for some reason the graphics driver from intel will not recognize the screen as 1366 x 768 and instead defaults to 1024 x 768. When I uninstall the drivers it lets me choose the resolution but says that the graphics memory is only 64MB when it should be 224 shared. I have installed all the SONY xp drivers with no luck. Any ideas?

Try this: goto display panels under device manager, should be 3 displays. Right click on the first one, update driver, say select driver from a list, and then say plug and play display. Do this for the other 2 displays. Now you will have the option to select 1366*768

AWESOME! Worked great. Thanks for the help! Also since it seems that you have also done XP UPGRADE on the TZ, do you have the problem where some of the setting are not saved after coming back from a restart or hibernate? I notice it mainly with the sounds. If I mute before hibernate/restart then come back in volume is back up again. Not a big deal but annoying sometimes. Thanks for you help. The TZ170 is sweet and XP is amazing on it.

my sounds seem to stick fine with no problems. Have you noticed the diagonal lines on your screen during video or motion on the laptop?

I had that issue as well when going to XP, others in the future will have this issue as well.

Come on, we really need to get a moderator here and make some sticky threads, like ones to get XP on different Vaio models.
