Hi All,
I read carefully the posts regarding the XP installation process on the Vaios T series.
But I got a problem that I cannot resolve.
I installed Xp twice but my audio card still not working.
I even boot from a Ubuntu live cd to see if I could heard a sound, so the sound worked. My sound card is definitively good.
As I say, I read attentively the previous post regarding the XP installation and I didn't find anyone got the same issue (except the cam mic not working).
Is someone have any idea?
I tried to install the latest realteck driver but it's still the same thing.
For information:
in the device manager the only device which is not correctly installed is the Felicia port.
When I open the sound properties in the control panel the devices is identified as not present.
I wouldn't like re-install Vista.
Thank you for your help,![]()
PS: sorry for my poor English

Hi DanyBui,
I maybe miss something.

I did a research via google I find that: ンストール順はChipset→Video→Hotfix→その他を推奨。
But I can't translate it, because I am at work and smart filter don't allow us the google translation.
Can you tell me more about this hot fix?
Thank you, -

Hi DaniBuy,
I am Fu.....ed.
I can't reinstall xp on my tz. I can't no more boot on my external dvd drive.
I think the reason is since I updated the bios.
Do you think is possible to go back to the older version?
I am using a LaCie external DVD drive, I bought it 4 days ago especially to install XP.
I hope they will accept to exchange this model against the sony one (which is 3rd time the price....).
Thanks for your help, -
I doubt switching drives will help the situation, unless the LaCie drive is actually broken (which I also doubt).
Are you hitting F11 at the 'Vaio' screen after you turn it on to boot from DVD? -
why cant you install xp i updated my bios and its working fine??? whats happening?
-
Hi Guys,
Thank you for your replies.
Polarstream,
it's ok by hitting the F11 key "thank for your advice".
Dani,
I guessed that the bios update could locked the utilization of "other brand" DVD drive on the TZ. I said that because a friend of mine bought few time ago a VAIO without DVD internal drive, then he couldn't boot on "x brand" DVD drive, so he had to buy the one speficied for the VAIO model he bought.
So, now I can install xp from scratch.
I will let you know if after that the audio is still not working.
Thank you again, -
Hi Guys,
Everything is working fine.
The only thing doesn't work is the cam. (the driver seems to not be good)
But I don't use it for the moment.
I will install everest to get the exact model name and search for the driver later.
Thank you again for your help, -
