What are considered normal temperatures for a SZ with core 2 duo t7200? (SZ260p upgraded).
Is it normal when the notebook is held on the side the temperature goes up (drasticaly, and quick), mine goes to 92C and the fan start spinning very fast, when I hold it normal again, it quickly drops in temperature and fan goes back to normal.

My CPU is around 71C average when in speed mode, I guess this is pretty hot, I'm only doing some surfing wit FF.
How can I check temperature of GPU, (nvidia, and onboard intel)?

    Regards, Bart

Hi Bart, AFAIR my CPU idled at ~60*C (stamina), stressed up to 80 - T7200 in SZ240, I could check it for you later.
Not sure if I understand you correctly, but if you cover the vent on the left, you surely will notice the temperature going up.
You can check GPU temperature in nVidia control panel.

GPUZ will probably let you check the GPU temp.

If it's not dumping heat, you may want to go in and put in fresh thermal paste. Considering the age, it might not be a bad idea anyhow. My 750 was less than 2 years old when I did this and my temps dropped by quite a bit if I recall. I know my fans work far less.

I've downloaded HWmonitor pro but can't see the gpu temp.
I did refresh the paste a few months back, but refreshed it today anyway, it didn't change much if any.
the thermal paste I'm using is coolermaster premium, not sure how good that is.

The difference between paste and great paste isn't going to really matter much unless you overclock.

Granted, I have the newer SZ with the 8400 GPU and T8100 cpu, in dpeed mode:
GPUZ shows my GPU idles around 57-58
CPUZ shoes my GPU idles around the same, and CPU idles around 38-40.

I run a very tight ship on my system though, nothing extra running, but I just use the Zalman silicone based thermal compound. Works fine for most people. Those numbers may actually be a bit high considering how I had it sitting when I checked.

You may want to consider upgrading to the SZ6/7 heatsink, it's a bit better at cooling (and is more quiet). It's not a direct bolt in, but takes very little to make it work. Someone on here did a tutorial on it.

    SZ2XP Here T2500 2ghz undervolted, thermal pasted.
    32° C surfing/idle CPU

cleaning fan and applying thermal paste changed a lot. undervolt too.

Undervolting does an amazing job lowering temps, so will using the Intel graphics.
