I followed this tutorial step by step but whenever I wanted to install a driver package which included the installation file " dpinst.exe" it didn't work for me. After doubleclicking on dpinst.exe, nothing else happened.
So I ended up not having installed:
- Touchpad
- Camera
- TZ Sony Notebook Control driver
Additional to that, everytime I start Windows, I get the error message:
"AML.exe - Application has not been initialized"
Then my function keys are not working at all. Neither do the play/pause keys in the front.
Does anybody know a solution for that? Thx!!

Does the included downgrade dvd include all the drivers?

Just thought to mention this to anyone that has upgraded their TZ to XP.
Sony say on their site that XP does not support InstantOn AV playback - but if you happen to run a search in google - something like :
site:support.vaio.sony.co.uk instanton
you may happen across a certain download that just so happens to work under XP.
Nuff said.
Now if I can just get the bluetooth drivers to work I will be a happy chappy!

Work for a TZ91 Model? Thanks :O! It says 100 and the 200 series, so it doesn't really include the TZ91 -
Hi Bro DannyBui81...im preparing to get my vaio TZ downgrade to win XP Pro. I think there's should not have any problem with it. But my concern is about the Hidden recovery partition. how would I delete it, and merge it with drive C. I check the disk management. it say 6.15GB Free space, then followed by C drive 23.98GB. (im running on 32Gb SSD) so there's no point of keeping the recovery partition. Since you already done with the XP downgrade. If you got nay ideas, advice pls reply me directly to [email protected]. Cheers bro.

WOW
Installing XP on my TZ2500 was EPIC FAIL for me. About 5 hours wasted today.
I got as far as the Bluetooth driver, and I tried 6 different drivers but just couldn't get one to work. Okay, so I moved on.. and the Power Management driver doesn't work, either! I found the "Unlocked" power management driver for the TZ2500 on the Sony website, but when I downloaded it, it said that my computer wasn't the correct model, even though I had picked the right version. Basically I was stuck at 100% throttle, and the battery monitor estimated only 4 hours on a full charge.
I'm really sick of Sony's shenanigans at this point, especially after the Windows 7 fiasco. I'm listing my TZ on eBay and switching back to Mac
