So I remember reading that they killed off the Z, or at least retired it for now, or something. But do we at least know if they're going to revive it in some shape or form at some point? Do we even have any guesstimates as to when it would be released again if they were to do so? My Z1 is a mess and I really want to get a new one - I'm hoping they'll release a new Z with everything together again (no PMD). What do you guys think?

The story of the Z being killed was only reported by one outlet AFAIK, the Verge, and Sony has never officially confirmed it. I like the current format of the Z with the eGPU in a separate dock as the HD 4000 is capable enough for spot duty and keeping a discrete GPU off of the motherboard helps with heat and other issues. It also keeps the costs down for those who have no need for a discrete GPU. If Sony does come up with a new generation Z, I'd like to see them switch from Light Peak to standard Thunderbolt which would open up the laptop to third party eGPU options as well as other Thunderbolt accessories once they start appearing.
