When I purchased this bad boy i was thinking "man this is exactly what i need!" I went to 6 stores and talked to every rep and they all said this laptop "is the one"

well I then blew the 2500 and was thinking "about time I get the right laptop".

First issue off the bat that I noticed was the battery life! My god! It was losing 2 points of battery for every minute! Literally. Notice this for about 4 to 5 days of doing nothing more than web browsing. Thats it! So then I find out about this ultimate power save mode off the cord. Ok cool right? no, wrong... I mean it always sets to lowest light EVERY time i turn it on...I mean whats the point of having to turn up the screen EVERY TIME! Its just annoying. Also If I want to see a clip or hear audio of something the volume is shut down and cant be turned up UNLESS I go to C panel and change the power setting mode to Max life and wait for it to change to that gear and reset my screen settings EVERY TIME!.

If you pay 2500 for a d*** laptop it better do what you want it to do for the price! Which is to run as the display was at the store for 5 to 6 hrs with some great screen lighting. I mean now its on max power save and every 10 minutes I lose 10 points of battery life. Its just sad and Im shocked people are actually putting up with this. its a robbery of a laptop and I will have to be more cautious next time when buying a laptop. Im taking this back faster than I can say the word Vaio.

Sorry, but that's quite a bit of a rant, Houstonman. First of all, you can buy it for $2,150 and my SZ360 easily last 2.5 hours on full brightness, so exchange it for another one. It's a great lappy in my view. :)

You should surf the web using Intel 950 graphic (Stamina).

I think you ar using Nvidia 7400Go to surf the web (Speed).

Volume? FN key not working for you?

Just set VAIO power management as S1 S2 key so you can change it anytime.

I agree battery life could be better, but either you got a bad battery or you have no idea how to maximize battery life. Perhaps this is too much laptop for you.

I returned mine mainly b/c of the electric current from the palmrest area, and some other minor issues that I could have lived with had it not been for the palmrest constantly zapping me to remind me to get rid of this thing before it takes away my ability to procreate. :p
