I'm thinking about getting the SR165 for around $1460 off amazon. Should I get that over the Sony Z and Lenovo x200?

What is the battery life compared to the others, and are they all about the same performance?

I have held both the SR and Z, and the difference in weight isn't that different.

the SR on integrated: about 5 hour life. from what i heard about z on stamina mode: about 5 hour life.

its about the external looks, material and parts mostly. ddr3 on the Z, ddr2 on the SR (ive heard the diff. is hardly noticeable). Z has xbright dura view, SR has Xbright eco, z has carbon fiber while SR is magnesium and plastic, Z has HDMI and SR has only VGA... Of course the Z will have a better screen, resolution and few more features also the Z will weight slightly less but to me its not even that noticeable....

up to you...save 300+ bucks on the SR or spend it to get the above qualities of the z. UP TO YOU.

As im a student and i'm concerned with money (300 bucks in college is alot: it means a quarter/semester worth of books and supplies) and not being TOO over the top for simple word processing, browsing and music production needs... I chose the SR.

How many hours do you get with the extended battery?

i am getting my laptop later this week. i made some calculations and based off 5 hours for a 6 cell batter... that's 50 minutes of life per 1 cell...the extended has 9 cell battery so..

9 x 50= 450 minutes ~ 7.5 hours of life on the SR with extended battery

This should probably be merged with the thread you started earlier on the X200 vs the Z.
