I'm currently using the Fujitsu S6240 and i must say i love it so much. But the only concern is that it's still quite big to carry around; especially using on a bus/car or something.

Anyway, i'm now thinking of getting another one which will be the Sony TX series. But i have several questions regarding it:

    1. Is it a good time to buy since the Intel Core Duo is aleady out there? I bet Sony will take advantage of it and have it on the next TX series.

    2. What will be the main differences between the Pentium M and Intel Core Duo CPU?

    3. I have heard 1.8" HD is not very unstable and will cause blue screen a lot due to its tiny-size nature. Is it true?

    4. If i buy one, i think i'll use it on the bus/car a lot. Will it damage the HD or make it die very fast?

    5. Anyone has experienced how long the battery can really last under the regular usage?

    Thanks for all your help,

    Martin

    1. if I'm not mistaken, intel has announced yet to announce a core duo ULV processor. I believe it'll probably come out next yr of Q1.

    2. i'm not really sure of the differences as I haven't used a core duo.

    3. 1.8 unstable? Mine has been great so far, but keep in mind you are limited to size. I believe the biggest 1.8" drive is 80gb and it'll cost you alot.

    4. I don't think it'll damage the HD when on a car or bus, this notebook is made to be ultraportable so you could carry it around everywhere.

    5. battery life with adaptive processor, 4/9 brightness, wlan & bt on, and optical drive off gets me close to 7 hrs usually around 6:45 or 6:35

    edit:
I'm getting 8:10 with the laptop sitting idle awesome!

1.8" hard drive unstable? No way, just limited in size and speed. The largest ones available are 80 gig, extremely expensive and all are limited to 4200 rpm. Using it on the car and bus will not damage the hard drive unless you happen to use it as a soccerball or something.

    Thanks for your reply.

One last question, will you actually choose Sony TX series or Fujitsu P7020? Assume they both got the similar configuration, except Fujitsu has the fingerprint sensor built-in.

I haven't regretted my purchase but I never really got to handle a p7020 so I can't really tell you much. I can tell you one thing.. the TX screen is too thin for some people's tastes, but I can fully backup that the screen on my TX is very strong and has no ripple effects.
