The prices on the Casio Royales have come down by $700.
Does anyone have a link to any reviews on these?
Is it worthwhile a buy at 3200$ or will a low voltage core duo processor come on it soon? Does anyone have any bechmark tests for how the Core Solo 1400 compares with the Core Duo or Core 2 duo?
-
the ulv core duo has been out for a while now...its even an option on the TXN (the non 007 version of the one your talking about). The Bond model is not worth the money.
Get a TXN. The only thing missing is the 007 badging. -

If I were filthy rich--dirty rich, rolling in moolah--I'd buy this package without a second thought!
But, alas, I am a human being with a conscience and common sense! -
-
^^ +1
only a self-conscience fool would buy this obsolete bundle. -
There is another thread around here stating that those specs can be found for 1k elsewhere. You pay for the name and the 007...that's it.

I highlighted the major rip off here...those specs should be a lot better for the price. Also, that battery life estimate is bogus...5-11 hours is way too wide of an estimate. -
I have searched pricegrabber, froogle etc and the cheapest price for the txn17 and the t50 camera together comes to around $3000-3100 at the least. Then on top of it they throw in the case and the filter. You are perhaps talking of the price BEFORE the recent $700 price drop.
So why it is as cheap as the ones without the 007 logo in the market today. So why shouldnt one buy it?thanks -
Only James Bond wannabe would buy it! lol
Thats the only reason I can think of for someone who wants to buy it. -
-
-
Its not worth it!
Seriously, who wants a 007 logo on the bottom left corner of their screen?
I think 1-2 years down the road, they will regret buying it. -

Hey, if you want to foolishly blow your money on this outfit, why even bother asking us? We've already told you it's a bad deal, so go ahead make our day!
And that camera is not the best available either. You're much better off with a Panny digicam, particularly the widescreen model.
Besides, nothing like advertising your computer and digicam with that doofus Bond logo, you'll be screaming "idiot tourist, please rip me off!" -
I just looked at Sony Style and I love the subterfuge: "Bond is back. Save $700 in celebration of Casino Royale. (Regular price $3,899.99)"
OMG! If the movie opening made them decide to drop it $700, then I'm a green turnip!I think this silly kit is not selling, which is the real reason behind the spectacular drop, 10 days after launch!
-
I think if your a big Bond fan than this is some cool a$$ sh!t.
I think if your not a huge fan than this is a big pile of $hit.
I, myself am a insane fan of Yoda. You know, the little green guy. I have three expensive life size props. My GF wants to pi$$ on my green buddies when I'm away, thinks he's stupid. We all have our passions in life. If you wanna go out and buy the 007 kit, hang out at Starbucks trying to get laid, then more power to ya. I'm not a hater.
I've played with the package in Sony Style stores and think it's cool, although wish the case was constructed better. Yeah, there are better digital cams out there, but were they in the new movie? And, yeah there are better ultra portables out there (not many better then TX/UX), but were they in the movie? These 007 kits greatly appeal to the movie PROP collectors so most of you will never understand. As a matter of fact, prop collectors would put the display indoors under a glass case right next to the life size Bond and you'd never see it.
I say if you love the Bond movies and have the money... -
I'm sure the Bond kit has a lot of sex appeal, because I love both the TX series and that digicam too. I was just banging the OP to get him/her to think twice before springing the big bucks. -
Guys, I need a little help. I am looking to buy the 007 Ed. TXN on eBay, here is what I like to know, for those people that knows or own one of those. Does it come with any wireless card such as Cingular Edge or Sprint EVDO? if 007 is a TXN17P then it suppose to have 2GB of RAM and Sprint EVDO. but none of the specs I found about 007 mentioned anything about the WWAN or SmartWi. and every spec indicate it's only 1GB of RAM. so anyone knows?
-
It is identical to the TXN17P/B and will come with 2 gigs of ram and Sprint's EVDO broadband built in.
-
It is funny that the txn is the james bond exclusive model, when he actually uses an SZ in the movie.
-
The attache case is made out of cheap plastic. I held one in store.
No one with the right mind buy this ridiculously overpriced package. You'd be better off buying a regular TX and slap a 007 sticker on it. -
if you have the cash then why not? but indeed it's pretty overpriced for the "specs". you're paying only for the 007 badging
-
btw, anyone know if they come with Express Upgrade to Windows Vista? since the seller bought it within the period of free upgrade. -
EDIT: Do 1GB of RAM to 2GB of RAM make much difference in performance? How about 1.2Ghz vs 1.33Ghz a big difference? How about 2GB of RAM 1.2Ghz Core Solo vs. 1GB of RAM but 1.33Ghz Core Solo CPU? which one gives better performace? Sorry, I really don't know what's faster now days.. -
Anyone comparing these two models?
Or the TXN27 is really so slow like some owners complained? The accidental warranty of Sony allows you to return your TX and take another? -
