    Firstly apologies if I have posted in the wrong section!

    Secondly thanks in advance to anyone that can help, it is appreciated :)

    OK, a sony vaio VPCW11S1E notebook. What were looking for is a decent portable laptop to use around the house (so I can have my PC back!) so my questions are;

    1) Can this be used for internet usage (mainly shopping online & kids 'facebook' etc)

    2) Hpw or is it possible to run this from my desktop PC (Sky sagem modem) obviously it would have to be wireless so can use around the house.

    3) I notice this does not have a disc drive, can the family watch films/listen to music using a USB stick?

    4) Would I be better off using a 'standard' laptop. The reason I ask is I can have this sony notebook as a free gift (voucher) but this is the only choice available to myself.

    I found this link; (apologies if not allowed to use external links but I hope this may help some members answer my questions)

    Again many thanks in advance :)

    1. almost all internet stuff should work, only problems with HD movies are expected, but maybe not so true....dont know about this one honestly.
    2. dont understand the question
    3. yes
    4. for the tasks you've described here, "normal" laptop would not perform any better.
