I have a VGN-NR21E which came with a VGP-AC19V20 AC adaptor. 2 months after the warranty run out the power supply became faulty(switches off when it gets hot ~1.5 hours). I called Sony and explained the situation but they were unable/unwilling to help. The offered to sell me a new one for 153 Euros!!!!

I bought a compatible AC adaptor on ebay for £12.99. The measured Voltage output was 19.78V. The original Sony AC adaptor outputs 19.44V. However, recently I noticed with the compatible power supply the Touchpad becomes unresponsive on occasions. If I unplug the AC adaptor so that the Vaio runs from the battery the Touchpad works again. Also, if i plug in the faulty Sony AC adaptor the Touchpad is ok.

Anbody experienced this problem or have any advice?

    Thanks
