I travelled with my X60 for 4 years. It's held up remarkably well. I've retired it and replaced it with a Z11. I'm wondering how the Z will hold up being dogpiled beneath a bunch of backpacks, assaulted by sandstorms and baked in the moist heat of a jungle. Will the Z hold up or should I bring my X60 out of retirement?

I would personally carry my Z, as I would never put it between heavy luggage.

On personal note as well, I used to place my Z in my backpack with thick heavy accounting text books, binder, backpack ruggedly used and the Z has held up well. Has few creaks from the aluminum laptop enclosure but satisfied compared to my past laptops.

I travel with my Z12 packed away in my Spire backpack and haven’t had and issues (Heavy loads & extreme heat conditions), I wouldn't travel any other way. Spire makes a great product made specifically for laptops (www.spireusa.com)..
