    Hi guys,

I have a Sony VAIO laptop which i have been trying to do a new OS installation as the current one is corrupt and i need to have it fixed. My DVDrom is faulty and it doesn’t read any discs so i tried to use an external rom to boot with and the laptop doesn’t see it! I’ve tried going through the bios settings to enable external boot to occur. I have enabled it so many times and each time i check i see that it is enabled and still i can’t boot from CD or from any other external source!!

I downloaded a new set of bios updates which are as follows
    1. R0080J4
    2. R0104J4
    3. R0034J4
Even after applying these updates I still can’t boot from my external sources. I would appreciate any form of help anyone can render.

    Thanks
