    Hello,

I recently installed AIM 6.5, and now, when I try to play any of my music or video files in Windows Media Player and all the other players on my computer, they don't work at all!

The error message that shows up as "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct."

All of my music/video files are perfectly fine and I am the only user with access on my laptop, so there shouldn't be any problems with user access.

    More importantly:

I've tried installing AIM before and had the same thing happen. I used system restore, and this corrected all the problems, but this time, System Restore isn't working at all. Every time I select a restore point and let the computer run and reboot, it says it has failed due to an unspecified error.

Can anyone help me ASAP? I'm a student with a video project due soon. I don't want things to get messed up because of this. :[

Did you try to uninstall AIM? Also, are you logged in as an administrator account or just a normal user.
