I have an old Sony VGN-CR290E laptop (purchased in the US)
I haven't used the laptop for 3 years because of following

    - Battery stopped working completely ("No Battery detected" message appears)
    - Webcam stopped working (No devices found, although device manager says USB imaging device)

The laptop came with Windows Vista and I was using Windows 7 last. It all worked fine and suddenly the above 2 issues appeared

Till date after multiple installations I still couldn't fix the Webcam issue, even after updating original drivers from Sony website.

Regarding the battery, it costs 90 Euros and the cheapest I could find is is 60 Euros.

I want to give this laptop off to someone who can use and how can I fix the WebCam issue?

    Any ideas about replacement batteries?

Battery: buy only original sony one. Fake ones likely are significantly worse.
