I was all set to buy the C190 from sonystyle.com tonight, when I realised that, being Canadian, I couldn't order from the .com site, and the .ca doesn't seem to have the ability to customize! So now I've been doing some research (again) and I seem to be back to the drawing board.

First off, does anyone know if it's possible to customize from anywhere other than sonystyle.com? What I want, surprise surprise, doesn't come with any of the pre-made deals.

I was reading some comments, too, about the C190 being a little "thick". How is it when compared to the SZ340?
Is it worth the extra couple hundred bucks for the SZ340?

Also, I've come across a couple of sites that sell the SZ340 ( http://exactchoice.cnet.com/WhereToBuy.aspx?id=5912) and I'm a little confused. sonystyle.com seems to believe that the most BASIC version is $1319.99, and yet these other sites claim to sell it for less than that... and while they have only 512 MB of RAM, they have better processors, more hard drive space... Am I missing something?

    Thanks :D!

Disregard the thick comments, the C series a very fine computer, but if you have the bucks to spend, I would definitely go for the SZ360. :)

I have a C-series and uber is right, it's not as thick as it sounds on paper.

Also, I'd avoid sonystyle.com; over-priced and bad customer service.

    I'd try newegg.com, pcnation.com, pc connection.com, ect

Amazon would be another good site to order. I just got my SZ340 thru amazon.com. Not sure about amazon.ca

amazon.com has good prices on some sony notebooks. So does buy.com, but their selection is rather limited.

I'm sorry folks, but there's simply no choice when it comes to buying a lappy online. Amazon.com allows you to send purchases back without any hassle, a key point when buying a notebook that might have stuck pixels or a defective anything. Costco is another liberal return-policy place, and they're getting the C series soon. I would not deal with anyone else and accept their limited selection.
