    Hello,

    I am trying to upgrade to windows 7 with the free windows 7 upgrade kit I have both Cds and i put in the home premium windows 7 cd it starts up and tells me "run-time error 70' permission denied"

    my laptop is Fw490jeb

    ps: I have noticed that when I try to run "model.txt" it does not show up and when I go to system it does not detect my processer and other things...

    Please help :)

    i just upgraded an fw490 successfully (or so it seems at the moment) using the sony kit, but to be frank my laptop is pretty new and i didn't have that much on it. reading around in the forums, most of the updates seem to be going well. don't know what i would do if mine hadn't.

    did you disable your anti-virus software and turn off your internet connection and some of the other features as instructed in the booklet that came with the disks?

    i figured out what the problem is windows does not detect the model of my laptop can anyone help me fix this??

    i go to system information and it says processor- not avalible and ram-unavalible
