I do not have Smartwi on TT. I would go to Network->Network and Sharing Center->Manage network connections where you will see all your networks, including BT. You can disable BT by right click BT. I disabled it, but by BT mouse still works. So it seems weir.

First of all, remove SmartWi from the HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Currentversion/Run section in the registry so it won't start up with the computer.
Then reboot, log in, and open the Bluetooth control panel. Set it to display the BT icon, and you can now easily enable/disable BT without the SmartWi crap.

I have had nothing but problems with SmartWi, and think it creates far more problems than what it solves. When you are connected with both wi-fi and ethernet to the same network, for example, SmartWi will endlessly bring up and down your WiFi connection. Vista's built-in networking handles it gracefully.

I have found out there are actually 2 BT programs and drivers in my TT. BT network can be disabled and enabled by the method in my earlier post. If you go to Device Manager and click on BT Radio, you will see one for ALPS which controls the BT network, and the Microsoft BT Enumerator which is the MS BT mouse. I cannot disable MS BT Enumerator, only uninstall it. If I do it, the BT mouse will be gone, so is the BT icon. To get it back, I need to reinstall BT Driver (Broadcom).

So, I find it quite flexible to use, disabling and enabling BT network at will. If you use BT mouse, you will not want to disable it.

My user name is misleading. I actually have the TT. I chose TT over Z for light, small travelling purposes. Besides it runs very cool and quiet.
