Does just hitting the switch to turn off wifi help? I noticed the driver is still there and enabled. Just that now its not connecting. Does this mean more battery drain as the unit is constantly trying to locate a connection (which it wont)?
Or to save battery, do I need to disable the wifi in Network connection?

Hitting the switch will switch off the wifi and save a considerable amount of battery. The Windows wifi logo will stay in the task bar, but that's just to show it's not connected in any way.

Ok, but the drivers are loaded (doesnt say disabled) and every once in a while, I get a bubble saying no wireless internet connection. And you get that only when the computer is searching for the connection. I would test this if I knew a good way how, but I have a feeling, you could save more power if the wifi was disabled and not just "turn off" when you hit that switch. But dunno. maybe that switch turn off the physical power to the card. Just that windows still knows its there.
