Who said Sony Service was bad? I DID when I had multiple problems with my SZ230. You can find the multiple thread on thisHowever, it looks like they have made some significant changes recently.
My SZ450 had DVD problem so I sent it in for the repair. I got the FeDex box on the next day I made the request. When it was delivered to the San Diego following day, I got the notification e-mail from Sony saying that they have received the unit. Hmm... This wasn't there before. I was quite impressed with it. Couple of days later, I got another e-mail saying that the unit is fixed and it will be sent out. Wow... now I am really impressed. Turn around time was pretty short. That evening, I received another e-mail with FeDex Tracking info and the unit is delivered today.
The whole process took less than a week including the labor day holiday. Maybe it's what other people are expecting from Sony, but I still think that it's great improvement Sony has made during last several months. I am definitely up for my next Vaio soon. TZ maybe?![]()

Dude you should get the TZ its the best looking piece of electronics I have every had. Feels perfect. And I also had a good experience with sony not so long ago. Im sticking with them from now on. HP sucks and uses cheap plastic garbage. And Dell? Wow, the worst.

I have had similiar experiences with Dell and I have 2 units on order with Sony so hopefully I don't have any problems..But if I do maybe it will go as well.
Usually I can pinpoint whats wrong so my tech phone calls don't go so bad anyway. -
Sony fixed my SZ display and turned it around pretty fast.

i've always had a satisfactory history with sony, although i can understand how some get pretty frustrated with the company, but it's always good to see positive posts amongst all the negative ones!
