Have just recieved my Vaio FE11H, and am very pleased with it - but I have a couple of things I am having problems with, I hope someone can help...

    1) When connecting an external monitor (using 'dual view' in the NVidia control panel) my external LCD screen gets a picture but is just a full screen of very light grey. It starts black and then fades unevenly to be a light grey all over. Argh.

    2) I cannot get my display brightness to automatically change when swapping from mains to battery use.

Otherwise great. I expect a clean recovery install will be due at the weekend to clean the system up somewhat.

    Thanks

    1.) I don't have an external so I can;t comment.

2.) I have the same problem. I am guessing it's an nvidia software or driver problem.

Just a thought, try the omega drivers rather than nvidia.

Strangely, 2) is now working. Hopefully it will stay working

    1) I believe now this is because I am connecting an analogue connection to my TFT. It seems sony supply an adaptor to do this. Maybe it's trying to display a digital output?? :|

I had something weird like that happen once, for some reason it was putting the colour down to 8bit and the resolution down to 640*400 For some bizarre reason.
