Anyone knows when they could approximately start selling the 64GB SSD config ?

This is also for me the BIG question these days: With 64GB out on the market, it hopefully will not take long time! A guess: September/October?

32GB costs around $500+ right now, so you can just imagine how much 64 would cost.

You could buy a supertalent 64GB IDE for $1800 then boot from esata.

Yeah I know it'll be expensive but I've read a few articles about the difference between 32GB and 64GB SSD and they say that even the speed boost is huge, that's why I want to go for the 64GB one.

I'll need the laptop at the beginning of October, but still there isn't any official info about the 64GB SSD option, so that I'm not sure if it's worth waiting when I don't even know if the 64GB SSD will be an option for the TZ.

My advice is to take now the TZ, and later on exchange the 32 GB with the 64GB SSD. In another thread one guy changed the 5400rpm with a faster 7200rpm, so i'm is going to be possible to exchange the SSD.

It's good to know that a drive swap is doable, but I'm thinking it probably won't be easy... you have to figure that everything must be crammed in really tight in that machine.

Me too, I don't like the idea of opening, taking the 32GB out and putting and connecting a 64 GB SSD in. If there only could be a hint of a 64GB version just around the corner...?!

It just came out the TZ90. And in US is still not announced...So, a refresh of TZ will be out at least January 2008. If is going to have an option of 64GB SSD, and i say if, it will cost a premium.

exetlaios, I'm afraid you may be right about January. Even though the price will be high, I am pretty sure that the TZ will be available with 64GB SSD. Why shouldn't it?!

Would a TZ refersh include a move to Santa Rosa? Or was there some other reason it's not using SR right now?

There is simply no SR ULV chips out right now, this fall, we'll be seeing Napa Core 2 Solo ULV chips. Also right now, SR's power consumption is higher and thats a big no no for ultraportables.

I am the one that swapped out my 5400rpm drive for a 7200rpm drive. While in there I took at the ssd and it will be very easy to swap out the 32gig for the 64 when they are out. I am planning on doing it.
