    U.S warranty in Canada

    im considering purchasing a fz190 from www.cdw.com because the canadian sony site doesnt have it and the u.s. sony site doesnt ship to canada. Im just not sure if the warranty will be valid here in canada though...
    does anybody know anything about this?

    No, Sony's standard warranty is not an international warranty.

    the same warranty applies to canda;expect for the fact that you have to ship the unit in for repairs; at your cost. Call Sony Support for more Information

    Perhaps they're more lenient in practice, but on paper:

    It states that "This Limited Warranty is valid only in the country of purchase, either the United States of America or Canada."

    Perhaps this just means that if you purchase the notebook in the US, you have to ship the notebook to Sony US (not Canada).

    Yup, that's exactly what it means - you would have to ship to Sony US. On top of that, Sony US will not be willing to ship your vaio back to you in Canada. They'll only ship to an American address after they service it, or so says the rep I talked to a month back

    i've owned a few american vaio's in canada.

    warranty works the same, just call the canadian warranty number
