    US/CAN Warranty Question

    I live in Canada, if I buy a Vaio in the USA and bring it up here, and something goes wrong, does Sony Canada look after my warranty or Sony USA? If the later, does Sony USA honor Vaio Warranties for Canadians that purchased a Vaio in the USA? Thank you!

    I think you might have to send your vaio back to USA to fix it.

    Unless something's changed in the past couple of years, I don't think the warranty is transferrable -- Sony USA would have to service it. The problem also is that they can't ship to a Canadian address. Again, things may have changed, but I had an issue a while back where they needed to send me a part, and their system would not accept anything other than a U.S. state in the address, and a U.S. zip code. I got them to send the part to a buddy in the U.S. who then sent it to me.

    But anyway, I would contact Sony directly to find out whether this is still the case, maybe things *have* changed...
