    US Vaio P use in Europe?

    Hi folks :)
    I have US Vaio P788K/Q locked to Verizon that i want to use in Europe - GSM network
    Because US models of P is without SIM card holder i solder the SIM slot but cannot put it to work.
    What is the solution?
    1. To order Option GTM382 E 3G WWAN Wireless Card HSDPA GPS and to replace Gobi 2000?
    2. Some software mod?

    I thought Verizon was a CDMA network?

    Do you know the model number of the 3G card you have installed? (check Device Manager) If it's only a CDMA radio you will need new hardware, I don't know if it will have a GSM radio as well.

    Should've read your post properly really!

    According to the data sheet it does do GSM.

    Have you tried the steps outlined in this thread? Seems fairly similar...
