Anyone have any recommendations for a good USB hub that stays out of the way on your laptop? I really want this one:

    http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=469617

It doesn’t stick out much at all because it’s not a full head, and the cord comes out on an angle instead of straight out which is great for laptops, and the end that stuff plugs into can be pushed back to stay out of the way. However, it’s been “coming soon” on Belkins site for a while now.

Anyone using or know of anything similar to this? If so please pass on the name. I have an FW190, and the USB placement kind sucks, I need a way to be able to attach some things and keep them out of the way on my desk. Some of those wireless hubs looked cool, but require a wireless router, so they aren’t an option at the moment.

that thing will pull all of it's juice from your notebook, which means you won't be able to fully utilize some of the stuff you've attached. also, charging will take ages, as will syncing stuff, or transferring files from an external HDD.

may i suggest looking for something with it's own PSU?

Honestly, I'd prefer a powered USB hub, I just really want something with a small input and angled cord like the Belkin. It's the perfect input for a laptop, with that design it will probably only come out about an inch if even that including the cord. A normal straight input, with cord, could come out 3-4 inches easily. If you are right handed, with the placement of the USB inputs on the FW190, it becomes an issue fast on a small desk if you need have those USBs taken all the time.

I'm probably only going to be hooking up a keyboard/mouse/printer to the hub if it's not powered.
