So I've been wondering why my perfectly fine Logitech wireless mouse has been acting weird with my new SA. The range is about 3 feet, and even close up the mouse movements are laggy and spotty. Turns out, when I unplug my external HDD (which is plugged into the USB 3.0) port, the mouse becomes fully functional again. I've tested this with two difference mice, same effect.

What could be causing this nonsense?

try to plug it the mouse on a different usb port (say the hdd on the left side of the lappy and the mouse on the right side).

specially if you're copying files you could have reached the max bandwidth of the ports or power output of the usb.

^ SA has only three USB ports: two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0. all of them are on the right side of the laptop. the USB 3.0 port has an independent controller chip.

I guess you already did this, but do you have latest Setpoint installed from Logitech? Had similar problems some time ago, mouse would stop responding after no obvious reason. What I did to resolve this issue for good, was uninstalling Setpoint driver (via Your Uninstaller or some other good remover, like Revo, Total Uninstaller...), delete Logitech from registry, restart and then fresh installation of latest Setpoint version.

    Cheers,
    Miki

Yes, latest setpoint is installed, and I've also tried all combinations of plugging in my devices to the USB ports. Nothing works. Regardless of my settings, unplugging a device from the 3.0 port will make the wireless mouse finally work normally, and plugging a device back in will make my wireless mouse range about one foot.

This is craaaayyy-zaaaay and I'm not seeing much hope for finding a fix :(
