If anyone can help out it would be appreciated. I am trying to use Ubuntu on my notebook. It will only allow me to view everything at 640*480. I have tried to use the restricted nvidia driver but receive the following error:

'the software source for the package nvidia-glx-new is not enabled'

any ideas etc will be appreciated!

    thanks.

I was able to find something to help address my problem. It is solved using the following information. I thought I would post it in case anyone else needed a quick link.

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FixVideoResolutionHowto

I did however run into something else interesting. After connecting to the internet w/my ubuntu install I decided to update to the new release (8.04). After installing and the reboot my GRUB boot manager now shows two different linux installs to choose from. Does anyone know if this is normal? or did I do something wrong?

    thanks
