Sure, the wireless internet works fine (I have a wireless router at home). But I cannot seem to add the laptop to My Network Place. Any idea how to fix this?

I had a similar problem with my sz340, and I finally fixed it after days of playing with the settings. The first issue to address is whether or not you have a firewall installed, and then if you have security, i.e. WEP enabled. Further, I was successful when I elected to proceed with using the Intel PROset utility as opposed to Windows wireless.
Be sure that you have the settings on your router matching the computer, i.e. Ad hoc, open/shared, the same encryption 64/128, ensure you broadcast as necessary, and make sure you enter the matching keys correctly.
I initially disabled the firewall, set everything up, and then enabled it again. Much of this is easier to do if you can change the settings on your wireless router from another computer that works with the router. Each time you change the settings, though, you will need to change the settings on the other computer(s) as well.
