I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NW115J and have not been able to install any updates since doing a reinstall from the restore disks. Any update I do tells me the update is not compatible with this model computer. I also cannot install the Windows 7 upgrade for the same reason. I originally got the laptop with Vista installed and then upgraded to Windows 7. Later the Windows 7 system crashed and destroyed many of my files (apparently a driver uninstall went wild) and after recovering from the original install disks, I have not been aboe to do any of the Vaio Care updates or any other update available from the website. Is there any way to recover this ability without another system wipe and restore? I don't want to go through that headache unless I am sure it will restore the update problem.
