Has anyone here successfully undervolted their TZ? I noticed my CPU runs at 0.85v, but the intel docs state that the cpu could possibly work properly on as low as 0.75v. I've tried RMClock and NHC but both don't seem to work properly with the TZ on vista.
Ideally I'd just be able to continue using the sony power management tools but just have it use 0.75v instead of 0.85v for my cpu. Anyone have any idea how to do this?

try the beta version of rmclock, I believe it works with vista.
Find it in the rmclock forums.. -
Thanks. I now believe the problem is not with the software, but that the TZ simply cannot be undervolted.

You can't undervolt newer mobile (only mobile?) Intel processors lower than the voltage of the lowest multiplier. You still can undervolt the voltages of the other multipliers though.

Dammit
Thanks for the info.

Are you sure? I find it hard to believe that the CPU won't work if, for example, you give it 1% less power.
I would like to find it out, because it might give some extra battery life and less heat.
PS. Notebook Hardware Control 2.0 gives lots of options for undervolting. -
Well if it's somehow possible I hope someone finds out! The intel specs state that the minimum voltage at the lowest p-state (800mhz) for the ULV C2D is 0.75v. Mine uses 0.85 volt as far as I can tell. Now this might be due to individual differences between CPU's, but I'd still like to try out if it doesn't just work properly with 0.75v as well.

Yeah try it!

Intel has made it so that the processor won't change its core voltage lower than the lowest multiplier's voltage. It isn't a problem of it not functioning when it's lower.
