    Hi all,

My 4 year old Sony VAIO VGN-FZ210C/E has been acting weird lately.
Randomly some key gets pressed repeatedly as soon as machine is booted. In result, machine does not get booted, and a long beep is heard while Windows 7 loading logo showing up.

This is not consistent, as in, sometimes machine gets booted successfully, but symptom starts happening after a while with any key pressed again. So, if I open a Run window, the key being pressed is shown.

Its not a soda spilled, or something stuck in keyboard, because I've detached keyboard completely and still this issue is seen.

I've even tried reinstalling OS as well, hoping it could be some virus, but as this starts happening in the beginning of the boot itself (where BIOS info/Brand is shown), it can't be a virus.

I tried to find something in BIOS as well to make it forget the keyboard completely, but couldn't find anything related to it.

I don't even want to use the laptop's keyboard, I just want it to attach to TV
to play videos, and I've a wireless USB keyboard for this purpose.

Has anyone seen this issue in Sony or any other laptops? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading!

This could be hardware failure. I guess you might be able to unplug the keyboard cable and try starting it up to see what happens.

    Thanks for replying Reb1!
I tried removing keyboard altogether as well, but with no internal keyboard attached (and with an USB keyboard), I am still seeing the same issue.
