Is it just me or does it take Sony forever to update their drivers? They are using ancient catalyst and synaptics drivers(6 months - 1 year old).

Anyways, my question is, does anyone know how often sony releases driver updates for their notebooks? The SR was released in late july/available in august, if im not mistaken. i purchased mine in late september...

Now they are starting to sell the second version of the SR and FW(SR2xx and FW2xx) but they have not updated their drivers, what gives? Whats their typical timeframe?

Sony very rarely realases graphics card drivers, let alone drivers for anything else.

I actually got a new driver for my a/b/g wireless off the intel site and its considerably better, for example turning on and turning of wireless takes about 20% of the time it took previously.

In the graphics department I have to use a non-sony driver if I want to have games work the way they should. I am about to 'upgrade' to the 179 set at the moment. For my model officially the newest driver is close to two years old, essentially the original for the 8 series nvidia cards. I would certainly look to get a newer driver set as there are bound to be some large gains from getting them.

So, at first i download the Mobility Modder 8.8 drivers, but recently i simply used "update driver" through windows device manager(vista) and it downloaded some drivers and now it says i have a 3400 Series Radeon HD, which is no prob, because it still has the correct clock speeds for the driver, should i resort back to ATI modded drivers, the OEM ones, or stick with whatever vista upgraded my drivers to...
