    Windows: XP, RAM: 1G
Under very intensive uses, Task Manager reports the Physical Memory is about 850MB which means that 150 MB are available.

So my question is if upgrade to 2 G RAM, is there any increase performance?

Yeah. You would notice things being a lot snappier.

Not an exact answer, but somewhat relevant...

I have an SZ-110 running Vista Ultimate. This morning, I upgraded from 1 gig to 2 gig of RAM and the machine is MUCH faster.

Right now, I have these apps running: Outlook 2007, PPT 2007, Windows Explorer, 3 instances of Visual Studio 2005, Firefox with 20 tabs open and I get instant response as I switch among them.

I saw 2Gb will definately help! I'm running on 2Gb on Vista - no slow down yet. But you're talking about XP so it'll be even better. But you'll also have to consider what speed of RAM you're getting, more doesn't always mean faster ;)

Thanks for your suggestion, but I am running XP and the total RAM (850MB)used under max intentive case iis still less than total RAM (1G) (Not the Virtual Memory). Do I need to upgrae RAM??

You dont NEED to do it, its just that you will notice an improvement if you do.
