I know this thread is a little old now, but I have a z2390s and purchased the 1xMZRPC512 from aliexpress in Jan 2015. I guess now that the line is discontinued, they are discounting the oem pieces. Anyways, I was able to negotiate the seller down to $270. Product arrived exactly as described and thanks to this thread and the disassembly video on youtube, and the Acronis True Image how to, I was able to get the new harddrive installed in about 25 minutes. Lot of different size screws, but overall very simple.

Having spent so much money on a leading edge system with such quality components, the extra bit to make the harddrive that much more usable seems like a steal now.

thanks all for the tips in this forum.

Hi, I have a VAIO SVZ1311 (3rd generation), would like to upgrade to 1TB, but the max supported SSD is only 512GB with part number: MZRPC512HAFU or MZRPC512HBFU

I am wondering if any one have success installing a 1TB mSATA samsung SSD? I intend to use the mSATA to LIF (24pin) adapter (see below), please advise.

    mSATA Samsung EVO 850 1TB $450

Based on what I saw when I opened it up, I wouldn't expect it to fit unless you are able to confirm they are the same size. The mzrpc cards fit very snug in the vaio.

I have checked that just single mSATA Samsung EVO 850 fits. There is no space for two Samsung mSATA drives. However, the issue is Sony proprietary LIF/ZIF cable, which is 29pin. I never found any suitable converter/adapter/cable.

Do you think this ZIF/LIF to mSATA cable will work?

Is the width of the mSATA drive much smaller than vs the 512GB MZRPA512HMFU drive?
