Probably a very tedious question for you guys, but.......

So I'm one of those cheapskate VAIO owners who only jumped in when the E series came around. I got a very good deal on a small EA series with Blu-Ray burner. However the CPU is a bit of a donkey (dual core P6100, 2GHz).

I missed a mobile i5-540 on Ebay the other day, and was wondering if it would have worked (it's the same pin layout so I'm sure it will fit), and if it's a big challenge?

    Thanks for any info

Bump. There's really no info out there!

I'm guessing I should avoid the i5-5xx series, but i5-480m or i3-380m should work (if I can find one).
