Currently, I am running windows Home Premium vista. I am planning to upgrade it to Ultimate Vista.
When I am upgrading to Ultimate Vista, do I need to format the HD or I can just upgrade it without formating my current HD. I do not want to upgrade to Ultimate vista and lost all my data that I have in my laptop.

    The second question is,
If I upgrade my laptop HD to 500GB (currently is 320GB), can I use Sony Vaio Recovery Disc (I created using 2 DVDs) to install the new 500GB HD with all the sony software and driver? and yet the new space will shown as 500GB instead of 320GB ?

I know that windows recovery disc can not be used if you upgrade your hard drive. Last time when I tried to upgrade my desktop from 500GB to 1Tb using window recvery disc, the windows recovery disc only recognize my new HD space as 500GB instead of 1TB. So, I have to reinstall fresh windows and not using the windows recovery system in order to get full 1TB HD.

    Thank You
