    Hello ladies and gents.

Recently bought a Sony AR605E for music production, and while I love this beast to death, I need to upgrade to a larger processor so the samples do not cause the CPU to overload.

Current CPU type: Intel t7100-Socket Type P-65nm tech

Ideal Processor Uprgrade: Intel t9300-Socket Type P-45nm tech

My only concern is that the t7100 is 65nm and the t9300 is 45nm. Will this cause any problems?

    Thanks and cheers.

No it would not, as long as the new processor is compatible with the chipset in your notebook (I'm quite sure it is), it will be fine.

The current Vaio AR notebooks (as well as many others) are using the same chipset as yours (which is Santa Rosa), just a newer processor (Penryn), so your upgrading to match them now.

I thought the T7100 was a 2.0 Ghz? It shouldn't lag a whole lot
Maybe more ram or a faster hdd would help more?

    Ah, thank you.

Also going to put in the secondary Hard Drive. Need more room for samples as NI Komplete is eating 65Gb of the current HD's space right now. Looking at a Western Digital Scipio 320Gb 5400rpm. Not the fastest, but right now I'm just looking for something to hold stuff.

    Cheers,

    Not too shabby ;)

Off topic: Was looking at music production software recently myself, whats the user interface in NI like? Is it easy to use or do you have to navagate through a hundred screens to find the sequencer?
