    Hi,

I'm planning to replace the HD in my VAIO. I've already removed the old unit (SEAGATE Momentus 5400 rpm, 80G, model: ST98823AS) with a newer (ideally larger, faster) one. I plan to run a clean install of Win XP and reinstall the Sony drivers etc using the recovery discs.

What do i need to take into account? Brand? Specifications? Sony telephone support have told me i need to be careful here but i suspect they are trying to get me to pay for their expensive repair service for what is otherwise quite an easy process.

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex
