    Hi guys,

I wanted to get a Z series as my SR is now nearing its 1 year birthday and beginning to feel slow. However i really dont have the money.

I was wondering if i could get some advice on upgrading the CPU and hard drive to SSD?

    I have a SR31M/S.

My CPU is - Intel Core 2 Duo [email protected]
My Ram is -DDR2 SDRAM 4GB (but only 3 is used due to god damn 32 bit windows 7)
I have a graphics card called ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470
And my hard drive is 320GB not sure on the speed?

Any ideas on how i could speed it up? I dont mind getting my hands dirty and DIYing it. I also dont mind spending a little money. A little advice would be handy is all

    Thanks!

Addressable ram is part of your issue. Why not install motherf**king Windows 7 64 bit?

Could upgrade HDD to 7200rpm (if it isn't already) or move to an SSD.

Clean install my help speed things up too.

Use a search engine for the software unless you can get it discounted through your work/uni if you're a student.

It is very easy to upgrade the HD because you have access to it via the underside of your laptop.
