If my VAIO is under warranty, is there any 'official" way to upgrade the parts (like RAM, Hard Disk, fans etc) without voiding warranty? I have heard some people saying that they will cover all the original hardware inside your laptop, unless someone you add in is messing up the whole laptop. Is that true?

No official way, however, just do it. If you ever get into a bind just swap back with OEM.
